Carthago is located at the african mediteranean coast. In the 4th and 5th century B.C. it became an important sea and trading power and founded colonies i.a. in Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Balearic Islands, the North African Coast and the mediterreanian Coast of Spain. Mintage began around 410 B.C. in Sicily. People used silver, gold and later also bronze. Main motif was the head of tanit, horse and palm.
